My Unconventional Career Path:
2008:
Graduated with a degree in Administrative Sciences (Public Law).
I’ve always been drawn to questions of justice, which led me to focus on human rights and constitutional law during my studies.
The common thread throughout my academic work was the topic: “Fundamental Rights and the Principle of Proportionality in Law Enforcement.”
2010:
After a few office jobs in Finland, I decided to move to Russia.
At the Finnish Consulate in St. Petersburg, bureaucracy turned into a two-year adventure in this fascinating city!
2012:
Moved to Munich — for love.
At the European Patent Office, I landed a job in the procurement department and, at the very least, impressed my experienced colleagues with my steep SAP learning curve.
2016:
That’s when the e-commerce yoga apparel brand Arctic Flamingo was born.
What started as a passion project for bold yoga leggings — and my favorite hobby, yoga — became my main occupation.
2016-2023:
As the founder of Arctic Flamingo Yoga Wear, I suddenly found myself wearing many hats: product designer, business developer, production manager, marketing strategist, pattern maker, brand manager, customer support, delivery service, content creator, my own motivation coach, photographer, and sustainability expert — all in one.
Despite the many roles that come with being self-employed, one thing was always at the center for me: creating the most sustainable, highest-quality product possible.
2024:
After nearly 10 years of self-employment and with three children, I’m longing for change. I’m opening my eyes to life beyond Arctic Flamingo.
I’m diving deep into topics like circular business models, AI, service design, product design, and textile recycling — and beginning to reinvent myself ✨
2025/2026:
I’m currently in a transition phase and looking for a new professional challenge within a team 🙂
At the same time, I’m continuing to run Arctic Flamingo on a smaller scale and offering web design, photography, and branding for local entrepreneurs — a creative stopover on the way to my next chapter.
